In the little town of Macaroni, Geppetto, the wood carver, has just finished creating the most beautiful wooden marionette called Pinocchio. Everyone in the town is in awe of the incredibly life-like puppet. Before he goes to bed, Geppetto wishes upon the evening star that Pinocchio would become a real, live boy. As Geppetto sleeps, the Blue Fairy arrives and partially grants his wish; Pinocchio has come to life, but he is still a puppet and must prove himself worthy before becoming a real boy. However, being naive, he requires some guidance, and the Blue Fairy appoints Jiminy Cricket to be his “conscience”.

The next morning, Geppetto sends his son off to school. Pinocchio is full of good intentions but is side tracked by two wily rogues, the smooth-talking crooks convince Pinocchio that he can become a famous actor. They bring Pinocchio to marionette master Stromboli; whose travelling show is in town. Pinocchio becomes a fabulous success as part of the show, when he tries to return home to Geppetto, Stromboli locks him in a cage.

Will Pinocchio ever get back to Geppetto? Will he prove himself and become a real boy?
